For a pre-valentine dinner, I took my "old hippies" ( how I refer to my parents in the forums sometimes because they lived on Haight and Ashbury, the true epicenter of the turbulent 60's, during that time and were, well...hippies--I have another set of parents living in Pennsylvania too) out for a bite of sushi. Both are well known painters, an abstract expressionist with minimal color and an abstract colorist. My mom is a little Japanese woman who earned herself a BA and BFA in her 50's.
This is an avocado salad, mixed with baby greens and a sesame dressing.
